NATURE & OBJECT DRAWING

It's a rendering of an antique piece. While selecting an image for reference I was searching for something unique and antique. It is my first realistic rendering assignment; there were many challenges for me. Creating a metallic colour and texture with poster colours as well as painting smoke was also quite challenging. Under the guidance of teachers, I was able to do it.

Glass is one of the trickiest objects to render. The reference has a beautiful composition of man-made as well as natural objects with varying textures. The realistic rendering of this photograph was challenging enough. I am satisfied with the result I could achieve with poster colours. I tried to replicate most of the shades while creating an emphasis on the objects. The use of light and shadow in the reference was recreated to achieve realism.

2D DESIGN

Sayujya Hindlekar
This song expresses how powerful love is. It depicts the story of Chaudhary (a title of man from ethnic clans of Rajasthan/Haryana who owns lands) who wants to meet his young lover. She is equally desperate to meet him and show him how happy she is. She exultingly compares herself to the light of the Moon. Moon is the golden point of the design. She lures him to have Daal-Baati that she has specially prepared for him so that they can meet again. The dish is over poured with Ghee enhancing the taste, just as his love has beautifully brightened her. It was so much fun to make this Art Album.

TYPOGRAPHY

Mayuresh Harmalkar
In this assignment, the word is expressed through experimental letterforms. Tweaking of orientation, size, position, style, weight, width and space etc., to display the desired result. In the word 'momentum' last letter, 'm' is hung in midair portraying a swing effect. The placement of the word "momentum" is such that it justifies the position of the headline and copy matter.
